Staying true to the feeling of a century old family farm guided every decision in designing this new American farmhouse.
When a young Ohio couple decided to put down roots on this 100-year-old family farmstead, their goal was to restore the original house that their great-grandparents had owned.
Unknown structural problems hindered their plans, so they did the next best thing and built a “new, old house” with modern amenities in the exact same spot.
Tearing down the old farmhouse to make way for the new.
Before and after: The new design honors the past history of the house.
Gallery Steel garage doors with a low-maintenance wood-look finish have a vintage carriage house feel that fits the era.
The garage is a new addition with a surprise feature: a “drive-thru” garage door on the backside that leads to the patio and backyard. It can be opened up to move lawn equipment and toys outside or serve as extra space for outdoor entertaining.
This garage door feature is becoming increasingly popular in new home construction as a convenient outdoor access point that helps help minimize foot traffic through the house – especially with families.
The garage has three doors – two stalls to park the cars and a third door on the back wall of the garage that opens to the patio and breezeway.

The garage doors are insulated for year-round comfort inside the garage during the cold winter months and warm summer days.
